1 Off Motorsports HID Installation Instructions for BMW Touring Motorcycles

The following instructions cover the installation of our HID kits for the following models:

BMW K1200GT, K1200LT, K1300GT, and R1200RT

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Installation time is around 60 to 90 minutes depending on your motorcycle knowledge and mechanical skill. Installation of your new HID light system is farely simple, although we always recommend for a trained professional to perform any type of modifications

• no circumstance touch the HID bulb.
• We recommend using just the zip ties as they better secure equipment to your bike.

CAUTION!

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU REMOVE ONE OF YOUR FAIRING PANELS TO EASILY ACCESS YOUR HEADLIGHT. CAREFULLY ROUTE ALL WIRING TO MINIMIZE INTERFERENCE ON YOUR STEARING DAMPER.

TOOLS NEEDED:

You will need the following tools in order to install your new 1 OFF HID XENON light system on your BMW Motorcycle:

• Drill with a 7/8 inch bit - or smaller and a file
• Pliers
• Alcohol and clean cloth in case you touch the bulb
• Rubber cement (optional)

BEFORE YOU BEGIN INSTALLATION:

• 1. Place vehicle in a safe work environment with enough space to complete the installation without distractions.
• 2. Disconnect negative battery terminal.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1 - Remove the fairing from your motorcycle (refer to owners manual).

Step 2 – With the fairings removed, and now having access to the headlight assembly, remove the plastic caps from the rear of your headlight to access the halogen bulbs, set them aside.  Remove the halogen bulbs from the headlamp housings.

Step 3 – Drill each of the removed caps you removed from your low beam in the center with a 7/8” diameter hole.  Fit the HID bulb wires through the cap and squeeze the grommet through the hole to seal it back up. Do this for each cap. Optionally, add some drops of liquid cement around the grommet to permanently place the grommet in place.

Step 4 - Remove the HID bulb from its plastic protector, crack the protector with the pliers and remove the pieces.  Place the HID bulb in the headlight assembly and secure it in the base.  Place the cap back in place. Plug the pins from the power wires in the HID bulb into the bikes headlamp harness

(IMPORTANT!)MAKE SURE THE CONNECTORS ARE PROPERLY PLUGGED TO YOUR BIKES HEADLAMP HARNESS (POWER/GROUND)DO NOT REVERSE POLARITIES.

Wire all components as shown in the diagram below

Step 5 – Place and tie all the components to your motorcycles assembly in a well hidden place, make sure everything is tied down, and does not interfere with steering damper operation.

Step 6 – Secure ballasts in place with provided ties, make sure that there is no play and they do not interfere with steering, clean up wires carefully, tie everything downward make sure nothing is left lose.

Step 7 – Test your HID lights by turning on the bike and firing them up. Make sure you double check for any loose wires. Everything should be tucked away

Step 8 – Place fairings in place and screw all bolts.  Verify everything is tied down before you finish.
