Everyone knows that riding a motorcycle is "dangerous" and those of us who have been riding for many years have been told, " There are two types of riders..." Yet us enthusiasts choose to take our chances and continue to ride and enjoy the open road or trail. That being said, we all want to enjoy our bikes, feel free and arrive home safely. The more hours you get on the bike the more close encounters, and near death experiences you have. Riding ability, skill and experience all help keep you safe and to survive each ride. I am sure you are a great rider and safe, and probably know way more than me that is why I am using an article from motorcycle news to remind or even educate you on a few of the top 15 tips for adventure riders. Hope you enjoy, and learn something that will help you avoid even one crash.
1. Simple is really good Less than less makes for easy travel. Just one really good shirt costs less than three crap shirts, lasts longer than all of them together, and feels better, works better and can still be washed overnight and be – mostly – dry to wear the next morning.

How to Install HID Xenon lights on your Car and Truck
1 Off Motorsports has put together a simple instructional video walking you through the installation process on how to upgrade you halogen headlights to HID bi-xenon lights. Most people are a little intimidated because they are not mechanics, me either, watch the video and see for yourself if this is something you can do, you might be surprised. There are many benefits that come with brighter Xenon headlights, first is safety, if you can see more of the road and people can see you it is safer for everyone. Second, HID headlights out perform stock halogen lights by 3x, this allows technology to work for you, allowing you to see clearer, drive further without straining your eye. Installation of the Xenon lights are relatively simple, depending on your car, and can be done in as little as a half an hour. First remove the stock halogen lights, replace with the Xenon lights in the same stock housing, install a small power converter or ballast, connect the wires and you are done. Until recently HID Xenon lights have been very expensive and only available to the luxury sports cars and cost a arm and a leg. Now with the technology advances Xenon technology is now available to the public at a fraction of the cost.

What 250R outperforms the rest, the Kawasaki 250R or the Honda CBR 250? Priced at $4,000 and 50 mpg, both are amazing. With high gas prices and increasing traffic these are one solution to keeping expenses down while not sacrificing all the performance and style of a sissy vespa (sorry to all of those owners out there).

Spending the day with Professional Stunt Rider Tony Carbajal. On Tuesday the 1 Off Motorsports crew drove up to Riverside to spend the day with Tony Carbajal, our friend and professional freestyle stunt rider. We met tony while he was touring 4 years ago in San Diego. He blew me away with his riding ability and how easily he manipulated the 400-pound motorcycle. That day we started our relationship with Tony and outfitted his Kawasaki ZX-6R with our 1 Off Motorsports HID Xenon lights and he has been using them ever since. He enjoys the benefit of the smaller ballasts, and the ability to see and be seen.
We spoke with Tony on a few things, how he got started, what was his first sport bike, how he has seen the freestyle stunting industry grow and develop and more. We will be posting the interview next week so keep an eye out for that on our site as well as Tony’s, TCfreestyle.com.

Powder Coating and Anodizing with A to Z metal finishing.
Last week I went down to A to Z in San Diego and met with Kent, the General Manager and Guru of everything having to do to with coating your metal parts and accessories no matter what you ride, drive or submerge. This all came about because of how much I hate the look, feel and sound of stock parts on my motorcycle. I have done a good job on removing pretty much everything that was brushed aluminum but I have yet to replace my stock rear sets. This is for a few reasons, first Yamaha does a great job on their stock sets and second, because aftermarket rear sets can run anywhere between 300-$800. I have been looking for an alternative and have found one, keeping my stock rear sets but getting them powder coated at a fraction of the cost.
